I was surprised by how nice this beach is! Very nice, long boardwalk, lots of parking, 3 playgrounds right on the water, and lots of shaded spots to enjoy the views! Lots of large rock outcroppings you can sit and watch the water on. There are even outdoor workout machines on the beach facing the water, cool! The one downfall is that the beach is quite rocky and deep so not ideal for swimming and lying on the beach. It's nice that you can head up the stairs and check out the lighthouse with amazing views!
Gorgeous. You will want to spend your entire vacation here. Relaxing, pristine waters of beach. The smooth pebble Beach is perfect for getting comfortable on the ground but not getting full of sand. The boardwalk is shaded and has lots of benches for sitting and relaxing. There is ample parking and the sunsets are picture perfect every night. Go for a walk, a swim, or just to sit and enjoy nature on lake Huron.
Great beach!! No garbage!! BRING WATER SHOES the water edge was very Stoney and difficult to walk across!! Felt like walking in Lego blocks. Mind you none of the rocks were sharp but hard to walk across. Ended up falling and jamming/spraining a toe. Many bees but its bee season (end of August). Beautiful dock walkway! Nice mix of beautiful lake view plus the industrial heritage that made this town what it is today! Recommend this beach to anyone considering going!
We had a great day at the beach, saw a lot of monarch butterflies and had a great walk along the boardwalk.The beach itself is very rocky, and painful to walk on barefoot when you come out of the water. The views are lovely though, and the town is quaint. All in all I look forward to visiting again next summer.
Nice beaches. Lots of room. Can see the big ships in port too. Lots of parking, a boardealk all along the beach and many change rooms too. Some beaches are more pebbly than others. The nicest ones are the first one and the last one, but the first one is a bit noisy with all the kids from the playground there.
