We came late for a dinner date and we were tested extraordinarily. We were sat outside but moved inside when the temperature dropped but got to witness the sunset from the nice lounge in the main entrance. We got a lobster dip as an appetizer which was served with homemade pickles and baguette toast. Our mains were a wild fresh pickeral for myself on a bed of rice and veg. My friend got a nice spinach and ricotta ravioli which was reviewed positively. Will absolutely be back here.
I really wanted to like this place. I wasn't sure what to expect walking in but they make it seem like an upscale. I ordered the yellow perch and a classic gin martini. The fish was okay but not really what I expected. I was hoping for more flavourful fish but it was pretty bland. The martini was okay, not the best I have had. I had to get the first one exchanged because it had a fly in it. The reason I'm giving two stars is because the food didn't really fit the atmosphere they present. Additionally, the kitchen special is only available from 5 on, I got there at 430 so I was kind of out of luck unless I wanted to wait 45 minutes once the servers found out.
Service was a little slow but the food was very good. Must admit that their ceaser salad was one of the best I've ever had. Try their drink, man about town, yum. Great view from most tables overlooking the water. Was overcast during our visit but apparently the sunsets are spectacular.
Has a great atmosphere (as it is a converted railway station, I believe), staff are attentive and quick with orders. The meals were delicious and there were many different craft beers on tap from the surrounding area. Definitely worth a visit.
Great surroundings on a beautiful location with large outdoor patio overlooking Lake Huron. Food was top notch. Nothing like a generous portion of locally caught yellow perch. I was puzzled by slow service as there was only a handful of patrons. Meal arrived quickly once order was placed. No return visit by server to check on our satisfaction of the food. Overall the location and selection will bring us back.
